OVUNOL® is a dietary supplement based on myo-inositol, folates, iodine, selenium, vitamin D and zinc.

OVUNOL® contributes to the nutritional needs of women who want to become pregnant, in order to promote normal fertility.

Myo-inositol: produced naturally by the human body and naturally present in food, myo-inositol is found in many cells in the human body, particularly in the ovaries.
Myo-inositol mediates insulin action and is involved in processes including glucose Metabolism and the regulation of cell proliferation (particularly reproductive cells).

Folates (vitamin B9): folic acid contributes to the normal Metabolism of homocysteine. Folic acid supplementation increases maternal folate status. Low maternal folate status increases the risk of neural tube defects in the developing foetus.
The beneficial effect is obtained in women of childbearing age by consuming 400 μg of folic acid per day, at least one month before conception and up to three months after conception.
The folic acid contained in OVUNOL® is in the form of Quatrefolic® (5-methyltetrahydrofolate), an active form of folate.

Vitamin D: is only partially provided by the diet (cod liver oil, eggs, butter, oily fish). It is mainly synthesised in the skin under the influence of sun exposure, so intake is linked to the amount of sunshine.
Vitamin D contributes to normal immune function, to the normal absorption and use of calcium and phosphorus, and to the processes of cell division.

Iodine: found in particular in seafood and dairy products.

Iodine contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones and normal thyroid function.

Selenium: found mainly in fish, meat and mushrooms.
Selenium contributes to normal thyroid function. Selenium protects cells against oxidative stress.

Zinc: found mainly in offal and seafood. Zinc contributes to normal fertility and Breeding and protects cells against oxidative stress.
Zinc plays a role in cell division, DNA synthesis and protein synthesis.
