Urgo Urgoderm Extensible Non-Woven Fabric Plaster is a multi-directional stretch adhesive support, specially designed to secure large dressings, wound pads or medical devices (tubing, drains). This advanced fixation solution helps maintain therapeutic interfaces securely in place while adapting to tissue movement and mechanical stress.
Multi-directional stretch and anatomical conformability
The action of this plaster relies on a non-woven fibre backing with exceptional extensibility, allowing it to accommodate joint movement and changes in body volume without causing excessive tension or epidermal shearing. Its flexible texture ensures precise conformability to complex anatomical contours (elbows, knees, fleshy areas). This mechanical adaptability reduces the risk of premature detachment from clothing friction or moisture, ensuring long-term stability of the fixation system.
Skin-friendly adhesion and breathability
Formulated with a hypoallergenic acrylic adhesive, Urgoderm is engineered to minimise the risk of skin reactions, even with repeated use on fragile epidermis. The microporous structure of the backing optimises air and vapour permeability, preventing maceration while preserving the skin's natural barrier function. Designed for atraumatic removal, it leaves no sticky residue on the stratum corneum. This Urgo medical fixation solution combines therapeutic reliability with physiological skin compatibility, supporting treatment adherence without compromising epidermal homeostasis.

How to use it
How to use Urgo extensible fabric plaster?
Before application, clean and disinfect the wound. Ensure the skin is thoroughly dry. Open the sachet, remove the first protective layer and place the central pad directly over the wound, avoiding contact with the adhesive. Gradually peel away the second wing while smoothing down the edges for secure hold. Replace as needed.
Tip: For pain-free removal, gently peel parallel to the skin.

Frequently Asked Questions
What precautions and contraindications should be considered when using URGODERM?
To ensure proper adhesion and minimise the risk of irritation, URGODERM tape should always be applied to clean, dry skin.
For children under 16, it’s recommended that an adult carries out the application, as improper placement may lead to skin discomfort or damage. URGODERM is designed for single use only—reusing it may reduce its effectiveness and increase the risk of infection.
When removing the tape, gently fold the protective liner at the pre-cut edge and peel it back with a light, sideways motion. Avoid stretching the tape too tightly during application, as this can cause blisters (phlyctenae), especially in sensitive or post-operative skin.
Do not use this product if you have a known allergy to acrylic adhesive, and never apply it to the eyes or mucous membranes.
Also, avoid using quaternary ammonium compounds on the skin before application, as they can interfere with adhesion. Do not use the tape if the packaging is damaged or expired.
What formats is URGODERM available in?
URGODERM adhesive tape comes in a variety of roll sizes to suit different needs and anatomical areas. The most common formats include:
- 5 m x 5 cm
- 5 m x 10 cm
- 10 m x 5 cm
- 10 m x 10 cm
- 10 m x 15 cm
These options allow for flexibility in securing dressings, medical devices, or compression materials, while ensuring optimal skin protection and adhesion.
Are there any side effects associated with using URGODERM?
Like all adhesive products, URGODERM may cause mild skin reactions such as redness, irritation, or discomfort during removal.
In some cases, contact dermatitis or localised pain may occur. These effects are usually temporary, but if symptoms persist or worsen, it’s best to stop using the product and consult a healthcare professional.
If a serious incident occurs, it should be reported to the manufacturer and relevant health authority to ensure appropriate follow-up.
